Christmas and New Year in Switzerland

22nd December 2014 to 2nd January 2015

You can guarantee a white Christmas this year if you escape to the winter wonderland of the Swiss Alps.

Details of our annual seasonal tour to Switzerland over the festive period are now available on our website Christmas & New Year in Switzerland. This escorted tour has become a popular fixture in the diaries of many of our loyal customers who enjoy convivial company whilst soaking up the magical wintry scenes and atmosphere offered by the Swiss Alps in winter.

Below is a brief overview of what you can expect this year:

Day 1 - Early morning Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris, continuing by TGV to Basle. From Basle we travel on to Wilderswil and the Hotel Bären for a 6-night stay on half board basis.

Days 2 to 6 - Free days based in Wilderswil with your first class Swiss Pass (included in the price) which allows free travel on trains, trams and post buses. Your experienced tour leader will offer an optional excursion each day or you may wish to explore independently. We will supply, prior to the holiday, a comprehensive excursion list to give you some suggestions to consider.

Day 7 - Today we travel via the Interlaken-Luzern Express to Lucerne for a 5-night stay on a bed and breakfast basis. In addition we include dinner in the hotel on New Year's Day. The town has so much to offer including the famous Kapellbrücke - Chapel Bridge, spanning the river Reuss.

Days 8 to 11 - Free days. With your Swiss Pass you can explore the numerous choices in the area. There will be an optional excursion on offer each day. On the evening of 31st December dinner will be included on one of the Lake Lucerne steamers - The Silvestre Spaghettata cruise 2014.

Day 12 - Leave after an early breakfast to Basle where we join the TGV to Paris. In Paris we connect with the Eurostar service to London St Pancras arriving late afternoon.

The tour price is currently set at £2,210, but we must emphasise that this is a guide price only and subject to change as the exchange rate will not be set until 1st May 2014. We can accept bookings on the understanding that the deposit is fully refundable should you not wish to go ahead after seeing the final price. The price includes all travel and accommodation, a first class Swiss Pass and the additional festive meals outlined in the above itinerary.
