Snowdonia National Park -
A National Treasure with lots of Railway Gems

As America prepares to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of it's National Parks Service we thought it fitting to invite you to explore the natural beauty on Ffestiniog Travel's very own doorstep - Snowdonia National Park!

The US boasts a total of 407 National Parks compared to Britain's 15, all are areas of outstanding natural beauty, boasting mountains, meadows, moorlands, woods and wetlands. They are protected countryside that everyone can visit, and where people live, work and shape the landscape.

Not only is Ffestiniog Travel lucky to be based in Snowdonia, but as a rail tour operator we are fortunate to be surrounded by some of the best heritage and preserved railways in the world. We are therefore perfectly placed to create unrivalled rail holidays that not only promote this beautiful region but also its plethora of railway treasures.

In 2016 we have not one but two very different escorted tours that highlight North Wales's finest features – one specifically designed for the rail enthusiasts, the other for the general tourist wishing to get a taste of wonderful Wales.

Behind the Scenes in North Wales - Departs 15 March 2016 - 15 Days from £1,910pp

Our unique relationship with the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways has allowed us to take customers 'behind the scenes' to gain unmatched access and knowledge of the world's oldest narrow gauge railway. This year we have extended this 'access all areas' opportunity to include other Narrow Gauge lines including Llanberis Lake, Talyllyn, Vale of Rheidol, Corris, Fairbourne and Welsh Highland Heritage Railways. We also include a visit to the Rhyl Miniature Railway and visits to Arriva Trains Wales maintenance facilities and National Rail signal box at Machynlleth.
